Interview with Nina Recarey Obier with Success In Leadership

Interview with Nina Recarey Obier with Success In Leadership

It has been a bit since my last TRIBE interview but I am so happy to start them off again with Lady Nina!  I met Nina over 2 years ago at a chamber breakfast event.  She was working the Toastmasters table.  She was and is such an easy person to just talk with.  As soon as you are in her space, you know that she is focused on you. How awesome to have such a coach and person in your life.  So go on.  Immerse yourself in her story and feel her genuine care for YOU.

What is the name of your business?
Success In Leadership

What product and/or service do you provide?
I am Your Leadership Liaison and Freedom Facilitator. I am a guide or discussion leader. I provide leadership without taking the reins. I serve others through live training classes; self-paced digital courses, private 1-on-1 and group facilitation. My expertise is on leadership, being a leader of one, with a focus on vision, attitude and effective human communication.

With us being more and more wrapped up in social media, effective human communication is on the decline.  I am so happy to present to you Nina.  Someone whose passion is the art of communication; face to face.

When did your business start?
January 2014

Where is your business located?
Pembroke Pines

A fellow Pines neighbor!

What territory does your business serve?
Worldwide

Who does your business serve?
First and foremost women solopreneurs. Although a few good men are drawn to the products and services!

I love how Nina is focusing on the woman solo entrepreneur so that she may not go through this journey solo.

What need does your product or service fulfill for your customers?
The need to have clarity, simplicity and the proper guide as they journey through their business. Whether it is just starting out or at a crossroads.

Nothing better than having a guide!

What DIY tip about your product or service can you share with MY TRIBE?
At a networking event your goal should be to make 3-5 solid connections. The goal is not to sell a product/service, it’s to connect and move the relationship forward. Make a list of your best go to questions. After you ask a question, LISTEN.

Love, love, love! Networking tips.  It is one of my weak points.  I hope it helps you too.

Who is in your support system?
I will be married 25 years in June to a man who is incredibly supportive. I am blessed to have my mom, dad, and sister as my biggest fans! My daughters are my constant inspiration to lead by example!

Nina is so blessed to have such a great support system!

How did you get bitten by the entrepreneurial bug?
After 10 years in the Hotel Business, and all the crazy hours, I was working my dream job as a Training & Development Specialist. While I was creating this amazing career, I was introduced to Direct Sales. I was a Creative Memories consultant to get my product at cost. After my position was downsized, I decided to take Creative Memories to the next level. Perfect timing, my daughters were young, and I was able to be at home and also be a successful business owner for 15 years. When Creative Memories filed for bankruptcy I was at a cross roads, join another Direct Sales company, or live out my dream and passion to facilitate my own courses! And so the journey continues as an entrepreneur!

Nina created her own opportunity.  I admire her.

What is your biggest success up until now?
My most recent success was publishing my book in 11/2014! Listen.Learn.Love.Lead- 40 Simple Messages for an #inspiredlife  What started out as just a to do item, is evolving into spreading the word of my truly simple messages that literally have changed my life.

I need to get her book!  Anyone want to read it along with me and then we can discuss it.  I bet Lady Nina would love to join us.

What has been your biggest challenge?
When I was in Direct Sales, you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. You have a national company behind you doing all the marketing, website and more. As a solopreneur, you fill all of those roles!

Having come from DS (direct sales) myself, I totally understand.  Thank goodness for ladies like Nina that are there to help us femmepreneurs.

What is your favorite thing about humanity?
I love having real conversations with people. I love connecting with people just because, not for arterial motives. I truly believe every interaction with a person is for a reason. We may not realize the reason right away, but I am always open to the lesson I either give or receive!

Just so you know … Out of all the personal questions, Nina picked the one about humanity.  It does NOT surprise.

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?
New Zealand. The immense beauty that God created there has always fascinated me. I love being outdoors just soaking in the landscape. It always makes me feel so grateful!

Hmmm … I need to make sure that I fit in her suitcase.  Tee hee hee.

What about being an entrepreneur do you love?
My freedom. Freedom to push myself. Freedom to guide others. Freedom to work with my ideal clients who share my heart and passion.

I am detecting a common core here.

What is your why?
Human communication is a lost art. I know people want to connect with people. God put us on this earth together for a positive reason. I am determined not to solely rely on technology for my relationships!

She needs to teach this at schools!

Any tips you'd like to share about networking?
This is my passion. I actually created a digital course on this very subject, 7 Ways to Network to Gain Networth. First and foremost I believe you should lead with you the person, not you, your product or service. You will do this by putting pen to paper and doing the work to really know your values, character traits, strengths and weaknesses.

With each interview, I learn something NEW!  I need to chat with Lady Nina (again!).  My TRIBE would love to have her lead this workshop.

Any other tips, special messages or words of encouragement that you would like to share with MY TRIBE?
Starting and operating your own business is a process that is in constant flow. Stay the course. Give it time. Create relationships. A step forward is a step. Constant action is one of the main keys. Spend plenty of time putting pen to paper. Just thinking about the steps is not as powerful.

Is this an exclusive special offer just for MY TRIBE?
YES!

How long will this special last?
