Sunday FUNday ... planning for the week ahead.

Weren't the word creating people clever when they made the word PLANNING out of PLAN?  Because the thing about planning is that you have to actually PLAN!

Oooh. Did I just hit a nerve?  For some probably.  I am an accountability coach (at times more like drill instructor ... the caring kind) and the fabulous women entrepreneurs in my accountability support group know that today (SUNDAY) is the day to sit and plan the week ahead.

Let me illustrate ... you will be driving across country.  You can do it either two ways:

1 - NO PLANNING.
You just get in your car and drive.  And the next day remembered you had an appointment with a client.  Wups. Lost that client.  You didn't check the car's maintenance status so along the way you broke down.  You didn't know what roads to take so you were heading more north than west so making it across country was comprised of lots of u-turns, wrong roads & lost time.  No panties because you forgot to pack 1/2 the stuff you really needed but you have 12 pairs of socks and 3 spools of floss though!  Sleeping in your car with no shower because you could not find a hotel with a vacancy because you didn't make a reservation ahead of time.  Dramatic no? But you get the picture.

>>OR<<

2 - YES PLANNING.
Prior to taking off on your cross-country trip that started on the 15th because that was the day you cleared your calendar to be free of commitments to enjoy the ride.  You called AAA and mapped out a ride.  So you knew exactly what I road connected to what state road.  You even figured a few spots along the way on your bucket list to see.  You had figured out about what time you would get to what town and found the cutest B&Bs to spend the night.  The car gave you no problems because it was in tip top shape because you took it in to the shop before you left. And you had plenty of clean panties because you packed all you needed.  {sigh} What a freaking fabulous trip!

So which of these two trips would you rather go on??  #2?  Oh yesssssss. ♡ smart girl ♡ But did you know that your every day journey also needs PLANNING like our cross country imaginary trip so that it can go as best as you can control (key words there *can control* because sometimes "it" just happens) and to make sure you are indeed going in the right direction for your life?  The best habit that I learned was to take time out on Sunday and plan my week ahead.  That was over 20 years ago when I went to a Franklin Covey 7 Habits class.  Oh yeah ... I was only 2 then but I was an ambitious toddler.  Hahaha.

Seriously.  Take the time on Sunday (15-30 minutes y'all that is it) to plan the week ahead so that you can head in the right direction on your journey of life.  It is so easy to wing it but you could be wasting precious time and not really enjoy that ride to the fullest.

Happy Sunday FUNday planning.
{hugs}
